A Filipino singer, actress, and television personality, known as the “Queen of Soul” for her deep, soulful voice, Jaya Azarcon has enjoyed popularity in the US as a high-energy disco singer and has been a Top 100 Billboard artist for some time before coming back to the Philippines. Jaya is noted for being the Philippine music industry’s female record holder of a seven-times platinum album. She was a big hit when Pinoys first heard her belt out soul ditties in the 90’s. Ms. Cecile Azarcon is considered one of the Philippines’ most prolific songwriters.
